A Project Officer position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Officer will work on a project to conduct the research on development of sustainable shipping management. The roles of this position include:

  • Development of descriptive or predictive models for sustainable shipping management and business performance of maritime firms
  • Economic analysis of sustainability choices of maritime firms
  • Text mining of sustainability reports of maritime firms
  • Research on the business and policy aspects of managing sustainability in maritime firms  
  • Prepare and publish research papers on top journals

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Data Science or related field
  • Expertise in statistical modelling, econometrics, predictive analytics, or data or text mining
  • Knowledge in the maritime or logistics industry is an advantage 
  • Publication track record is an advantage
  • Proficiency in English

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
