Description:

The Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for up to two (2) full-time tenure stream positions in the area of Pure Mathematics. The appointments will be at rank of Assistant Professor and the anticipated start date is July 1, 2021.

The applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, and demonstrable excellence in research and teaching. Excellence in research will be demonstrated by a record of impactful contributions, publications in top ranked mathematics journals, presentations at significant conferences, the submitted research statement, awards and accolades, and exceptionally strong endorsements by referees of top international stature. Evidence for excellence in teaching must be provided through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, and the teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample syllabi, and teaching evaluations, submitted as part of the application.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct an innovative, competitive, independent and externally funded research program.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
