Research Assistant - School of Medicine
Applications are invited for a Full-Time or Part-Time post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Medicine.
MEDIRAD (Implications of Medical Low Dose Radiation Exposure) is a European-funded project aims to enhance the protection of patients and health professionals from exposure to low dose medical radiation. MEDIRAD's overall goal is to address these needs by enhancing the scientific bases and practice of radiation protection in medicine. MEDIRAD has three major operational objectives, one of which is to develop science-based consensus policy recommendations for the effective protection of patients, workers and the general public. The UCD team will primarily contribute to this objective.
MEDIRAD is supported by the five European medical associations - the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP), European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS), European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Society For Radiotherapy And Oncology (ESTRO) - and builds upon their partnership with the Multidisciplinary European Low Dose Initiative (MELODI) and the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS), and on the Strategic Research Agendas of MELODI and the European Alliance for Medical Radiation Protection Research (EURAMED).
Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic, demonstrate initiative, and have scientific writing skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the MEDIRAD recommendations with opportunities for on the job research training and development.
Fixed Salary Range: €23,061 - €26,609 per annum or Pro rata 0.5 FTE €11.530 - €13,304 per annum (Part time)
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
