About the scholarship

Post-graduate scholarships are available to study with the newly launched training centre in Surface Engineering for Advanced Materials (SEAM). Based at UniSA, but part of a cohort of 25 post graduate students (with RMIT and Swinbourne) tackling re-word problems. The projects will investigate the development of Laser Metal Deposition of additively manufactured components for Mining and Oil & Gas industries. The components will be designed to resist abrasion, erosion, impact and corrosion. The projects will investigate the effect process parameters, advanced feedback mechanisms and control, has on the physical properties. Applications from students wishing to study a Masters or PhD degree are welcomed, and researchers with a background in either Science or Engineering are encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to spend significant time at the industry partners facilities.  

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to Australian and NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for a research degree program at the University of South Australia.

Value

$32,304 per year - two (2) years for Masters by Research and three (3) years for PhD
