Come and work in London’s newest university nursing team, teach some of the most diverse and dynamic nursing students and help shape our future East End nurses.

Following the appointment of Vice-Chancellor & President, Professor Amanda Broderick, the university has committed to a mission to advance Industry 4.0 careers and lives, where we expand mental wealth, create careers, build business and connect communities in East London and beyond through our global gateway. A transformational strategic route-map was recently launched plotting our course to become the pioneering Careers-led university for a changing world, where the future of learning and work is advanced today and Potential is realised wherever and whenever it is found.

The Nursing programmes at UEL have grown dynamically over the last few years. This saw the development of our new Pre-registration Nursing courses as well as the development of the Nursing Associate programme in 2018. UEL is committed to the future of nursing and is involved in creating apprenticeship pathways across both the FdSc and BSc programmes to enhance the widening participation offer that UEL has. This is a very exciting time to join an enthusiastic team of academics who are able to shape and influence the development of the growing UEL nursing provision.

At UEL, we work with a number of local leading trust partners who offer innovative placement experiences that span both physical and mental wealth. The nursing programmes at UEL thrive on the supportive partnership relationship with practice partners across the communities of East London and serves to support the health and social care needs of the local population. As well as local partners, UEL has a close relationship with Health Education England and works with the local strategic workforce boards to ensure that programmes at UEL are representative of the local workforce needs.

We invite enthusiastic candidates who are registered nurses and hold a relevant degree. Candidates without previous teaching experience but with sound clinical leadership experience may be considered at Lecturer level if the candidate is willing to work towards a postgraduate certificate in professional education (or equivalent).

Candidates must have a passion for student focussed teaching, and a clear understanding and respect for the unique needs of widening participation cohorts of students.  The successful applicant will have excellent knowledge of the professional and academic requirements of higher education programmes and will contribute to the development of nursing in the university.

The school is based at the Stratford Campus within easy walking distance of the Olympic Park, vibrant Westfield shopping centre and developing East London cultural quarter and has extensive and easy transport links.

To support this excellent development in our local community, we are now seeking to recruit to multiple posts to enhance our current nursing education team. This is a really exciting time to join to be involved in the organisation, teaching delivery and leadership of new pre-registration nursing programmes at the University of East London. We are looking for people to take on the following role or with the relevant skill set as below:

Programme Lead for the FdSc Nursing Associate
Placement Lead
Admissions Lead
Experience across the 4 fields of nursing (Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disability and Child)
Nurses with experience and an interest in Advanced Clinical Practice
Nurses with experience of CPD delivery

At UEL we are committed to working together to build a community which values diversity in both our staff and student populations, is representative and inclusive, enabling all to progress and thrive.
