Position Focus:

This position will be located at the PRIME Clinic at 34 Park Street in New Haven. The candidate will conduct biopsychosocial assessments of clients and families using diagnostic interviews. They will develop comprehensive treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives and monitor and evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans. Will provide individual, family and group therapy. Will provide psychoeducation to clients and families and community providers.

Essential Duties

1. Must obtain informed consent from participants.
2. Counsels individuals, groups, or families to help them understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic action plans.
3. Collects information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests. 
4. Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
5. Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
6. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
7. Completes and maintains client-related paperwork, including federal and state mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes.
8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Master's Degree in Psychology, or relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Ability to work as part of a treatment team.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Familiar with appropriate documentation for medical records.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Familiar with evidence-based treatment including Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Familiar with psychotic or Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

LCSW or LPC license.
