Description
The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Professor. The position will be a five- year, renewable appointment. Applications must include curriculum vitae, research statement and five published or unpublished research papers.
The Research Professor is primarily an independent researcher conducting major original research within economics and is expected to stand alone on their scholarly accomplishments. They should have an excellent publication record in reputable scientific publications. Appointees are expected to make a substantial contribution to that research and may be part of a research group or in association with a faculty member. Appointees are expected to actively interact with a substantial number of faculty and students and regularly participate in academic conferences and workshops. The Research Professor is expected to have an active role in obtaining and carrying out funded research and serve as a Co-Investigator or Independent Principal Investigator on research grants. Additionally, the Research Professor will teach one undergraduate class in Economics.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field, at least five years research experience and experience in writing grant proposals. They must have demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly to audiences through oral presentations and written work.
