We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to support the delivery, development and direction of the BA Visual Communication course into a new phase of its growth.  The postholder will contribute to the successes of Visual Communication course and expand our portfolio of skills and diversity of voices to further enhance student experience.

We are seeking candidates who are design practitioners with experience in either of the following fields: design direction, typography, illustration, design for screen, social and service design, brand/retail experience design, 3D and digital modelling and film/animation.

The post is advertised as both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level.  However, we are only recruiting to one post and the level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.  For the specific qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience in relation to the two levels of post please refer to the relevant job description and person specification.

Candidates will have a proven track record of working on successful campaigns/design projects with a strong portfolio of creative, professional design work that spans across print and digital. They will also have the expertise, enthusiasm and communication skills to inspire our diverse cohort of students as well as the professional authority to champion the field of multi-disciplinary practice.

This role involves, and develops opportunities for, entrepreneurship and enterprise, and extending relationships with industry and external partners. One of the postholder’s responsibilities will be to develop and manage our Peer Mentoring scheme.

You will join the creative community of the Graphics Communication subject area, which includes BA Visual Communication, BA Graphic Design, and MA Graphic Design, at an exciting time of change.

The successful candidate for the post will hold a Masters degree level qualification in a relevant subject and a Teaching qualification as well as Higher Education Academy (HEA) Associate Fellow membership. For the Senior Lecturer level a PhD is required.

We are seeking to appoint a post holder who can enhance the ethos excellence of the course and of the University.
