Nanyang Environmental & Water Research Institute - Environmental Chemistry and Materials Centre (NEWRI-ECMC) invite applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow. This position will support the research team in waste materials recycling and re-use. The overall project will focus on the development of new ceramic oxides and related protocols. This job will provide day-to-day support in the laboratory for the research team and depending upon experience the successful candidate can expect to undertake open ended research projects under the research team supervision.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct the research on waste materials processing and pre-treatment
- Work with the senior researchers to assist the waste materials recycling and re-use
- Manage project deliverables/KPIs and oversee project management and report progress
- Help identify and validate new targets, which may include collaborative engagement with the external scientific community and industrial sector
- Establish a substantial external scientific presence including authoring significant scientific publications and presentations
- Provide leadership in the laboratory through scientific/technical mentoring for team members and through execution of project strategy
Job Requirements
- PhD degree from a reputable university in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and related areas
- Good experimental and modelling skills in catalysis and interest in building up new devices/ reactor
- Work well in a team, and be able to coordinate and communicate with researchers working in different disciplines
- A strong grasp in the intersection between technological development and fundamental science
- At least 8-10 years of research experiences leading projects and performing laboratory research
- Excellent record of publications and/or patents
- Experienced at managing/directing the research efforts of others as well as providing mentorship to research students and junior researchers under the direction of the PI
- Good report writing skill
