EVENT OPERATIONS MANAGER, MIT Technology Review (MITTR), to support a rapidly growing events business. Complementing the content generated from one of the world’s most respected technology media companies, these events and conferences are show productions of the highest quality. Will support an increasing lineup of domestic, world-class, MITTR-branded conferences and custom events.  Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day logistics for MITTR events, such as venues, vendors, hotels, AV production, web platforms, and special orders; advising on and adhering to key dates and deadlines; and liaising with internal, on-campus, and external partners.  Will report to the associate director of events.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: at least five years’ experience supporting complex professional events; background in event logistics; experience supporting events of varying size and format; demonstrated track record of combining strategic and creative thinking skills and delivering flawless event execution; comfort using web-based software, including calendar, project management, and CMS tools; and strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to multitask, prioritize work on projects in parallel, and manage time against deadlines; interact effectively with a range of stakeholders; work independently as needed to keep tasks on schedule function as part of a team, both on-site and remotely; and adapt workflow and processes as event details necessitate. Must be willing to travel (when safe to do so) and to accommodate hours outside the standard work week when needed.
