NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP), OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE AND INFECTION CONTROL, MIT Medical, to evaluate and execute medical environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs and activities. Will work with MIT EHS to support the building and develop EHS programs that provide industry-leading support to all facets of the Institute, including site research laboratories, classrooms, and employee work areas; continually improve and enhance EHS culture and training programs; and collaborate on the development of and participation on the incident response team and support business continuity and risk management activities.  Will also execute responsibilities associated with employee health services, including pre-employment screening, health assessments, immunizations, work-related exposures, illnesses/injuries, and workers compensation claims; provide medical care for employees with actual/potential work-related medical health concerns; assist with coordinating infection control efforts of MIT Medical regarding public health actions related to HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, latent tuberculosis infections, COVID-19 or other coronaviruses, or other public health incidents; and help conduct employee and patients’ safety programs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  master’s degree in nursing; graduation from an accredited family NP program; current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) certification; current basic life support provider card; valid prescriptive authority from the MA DPH-DCP and federal DEA; at least three years’ NP experience in occupational/employee health and at least two as a hospital/clinic-based infection control practitioner; expert-level knowledge of pertinent occupational health and infection control regulatory, accrediting, and advisory body requirements; and ability to push/pull/lift weights of more than 20 lbs., take blood pressures, administer injections, provide CPR, and bend over examination tables.  

PREFERRED:  occupational health and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certifications, and completion of the APIC training course in infection control.  Job #18975
