Description:

Applications for the Chair in Foot and Ankle Research at St. Michael’s Hospital-Unity Health Toronto are being sought. This is a five-year, joint University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital term Chair. The tentative start date of this appointment is November 1, 2020 or at a subsequent mutually agreeable date. 

The successful candidate will have national or international-level recognition as a clinician-scientist with an established research program focused on specific issues related to foot and ankle health. Applicants must already hold an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate must not currently hold an endowed chair or major salary award. 

Applicants will be evaluated by a Selection Committee according to University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital Policies. Consideration will be given to the applicant’s record of scholarly activity (including grants, peer-reviewed publications program development, collaborations with organizations nationally and internationally, supervision of graduate students and fellows) and contributions to the field. 

The endowed Chair will support the academic activities of the successful applicant, which may include salary support, research operations, and relevant educational events.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae (Common CV), a 2-page outline of their academic program (including research productivity, training activities and academic prominence), and a 1 to 2-page proposal of how the endowment resources would be used in the 5-year term.
