Job Description Summary
Under general supervision of the Director of Imaging and Clinical Service, assist cardiology/ultrasound clinicians with general operation of the large animal cardiology /ultrasound imaging service. Assist with other imaging modalities in Sports Medicine and Imaging as needed.
Perform all duties related to patient preparation, equipment set up and limited client communication. Perform all equipment maintenance on a variety of portable and stationary ultrasound machines, cardiac equipment and shock wave equipment to include troubleshooting problems and direct interface with service technicians. Perform billing on retail encounters on internal and external. Order all supplies required for patient exams and interface with hospital finance administration. examinations. Prepare all exam rooms with appropriate stocking needs. Maintain records both electronically and paper copies. Teach and interact with 4th year veterinary students and veterinary technician students. Behave in a professional manner, demonstrate awareness of patient confidentiality.
- Sports Med tech A: High school diploma and 1 to 2 years of experience working with horses or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Sports Med tech B: High school diploma and 3 to 5 years of experience working with horses or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Special interest in Veterinary Medicine desirable
- Computer skills required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary
- Ability to perform strenuous work necessary and horse handling skills desirable
- Must be able to work independent of supervision
- May be required to work occasional overtime.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Office, library, computer room, Stockroom or warehouse
