About the Office of Social Equity and Community
Led by the newly appointed Vice President for Social Equity and Community, this office will focus on “programs and initiatives that promote and support communication, collaboration, research and innovative programming within the Penn community that deepen awareness and help to advance the University’s mission of fostering social equity, diversity, and inclusion.” The office will design and oversee the recently announced Projects for Progress, a new fund that encourages faculty, staff and students to develop and implement projects to support Penn’s commitment to a more inclusive community. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new initiative working for change, social justice, equity, community and peace across the Penn community.

Job Description

The Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Social Equity and Community will work closely with the Directors of the office, providing high-quality, engaging, and timely administrative planning, support, and coordination. They will also offer welcoming, hospitable reception to guests in the office suite. This person will also maintain the office website and assist strategic communication efforts across various social media outlets. 

Professional Experience and Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED Required, with 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but it our hope that this won't keep anyone from applying. Self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, excellent written and oral communication, technological, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency with various social media outlets including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, and YouTube preferred. Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents and to function productively both independently and as a team member are essential.
