Subject description
Industrial economics and management is a cross-disciplinary subject that combines research in technology and social sciences. Research in the field of gender and organization includes critical perspectives on organizational phenomena such as leadership, gender equality, diversity and other organizational change efforts.

Duties
The position includes research, supervision of graduate students and teaching within the subject field. The associate professor is expected to be a driving force in the integration of gender research and gender equality in first, second and third cycle education, as well as leadership training at KTH. 

Since teaching will be both in English and Swedish, the associate professor is expected to be able to teach in Swedish within three years. If needed a plan for language training will be set at the time of hire.

Eligibility
Those qualified for appointment as an associate professor are persons who have:

  • been awarded a PhD or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve, and
  • demonstrated teaching expertise.

Grounds of assessment
The assessment criteria for appointment as an associate professor at KTH shall be the degree of expertise required as a qualification for employment. In addition, the assessment criteria stated in the KTH appointments procedure, section 1.2., apply in relation to the employment profile laid down.

Of highest importance is that the applicant has

  • Research expertise in the subject field, demonstrated through for example publications in leading scientific journals and active participation in conferences within the subject field,
  • Teaching expertise in the subject field, and ability to deliver education of high quality in first, second and third cycle education, as well as leadership training.

Of second highest importance that the applicant has

  • Ability to attract external research funding, and
  • Expertise in developing and leading activities and staff. This includes knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.

It is also important that the applicant has

  • Ability to interact with the surrounding society and inform about research and development.
  • Collaborative skills and administrative expertise.
  • Trade union representatives
