As part of its developing new 5-year Corporate Plan, the London South Bank University Group comprising University, Colleges and Academies is experiencing an ambitious and unprecedented period of change and growth, particularly in relation to group research and enterprise activities. The University now seeks to appoint to the substantive role of Director of Research, Enterprise and Innovation (REI). 

S/he will lead the strategic planning and operational support that the REI provides in areas including research grants and contracts, governance and reporting, supporting impact from research, IP commercialisation, academic consultancy, knowledge transfer, high-level CPD, development of strategic partnerships, SME engagement, business creation, social investment and enterprise education. The team is currently comprised of approximately 50 staff. 

Candidates will have proven experience at a senior level of leading and providing outstanding levels of service in research and/or enterprise and in supporting and developing pathways to impact arising from research and/or enterprise.  S/he will have experience of leading complex organisational change; devising new support structures along with forming and supporting established teams to work together collaboratively. Candidates will be tenacious, and have strong communication and relationship building skills. Previous experience of working within Higher Education is not considered essential, and candidates may come from outside of the sector.
