About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Investigator for the project, the Research Fellow will carry out research and development activities related to data analysis and data linking in an advanced manufacturing context. Activities will contribute to an Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (IMCRC) research project conducted jointly by UniSA, BAE Systems Australia for ACS Shipbuilding titled ‘The Application of Interactive Narrative Visualisation and Big Data to improve High Value Manufacturing’.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop techniques for data integration, data linking, and industrial discrete manufacturing defence supply chain data analysis
  • Assess relevant existing and emerging techniques for linking and integration
  • Develop and validate techniques for data integration, data linking, and data analysis
  • Design and evaluate semi-automatic data integration and data analysis technologies
  • Manage the research project to achieve project milestones

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
  • Experience with data science and machine learning technologies for integration and linking of structured and unstructured data sources
  • Track record of quality high ranking journal and conference publications in the field of data integration and data linking
  • Programming skills in Java/Python and data science technology stacks
