Job Summary

The Associate Director for Employer Relations will work closely with the Director and Recruiting Coordinator to develop and implement a cohesive revenue generating employer relations program which prioritizes the needs of the students, postdocs, and recent alumni population.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a cohesive revenue generating employer relations program which prioritizes the needs of the students, postdocs, and recent alumni population
  • Collaborate with staff in the academic divisions and departments on joint revenue generating programming including the established CMS-EE Partners Program
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with potential employers
  • Along with the Director, coordinate and act as a career services delegate to various student and postdoc clubs and leadership meetings
  • Under the supervision of the Director, coordinate with the Recruiting Coordinator on development and implementation of events and programming related to the career aspirations of Caltech students and postdocs
  • Maintain relationships with and garner feedback from students, postdocs, and recent alumni, incorporating this feedback into program development
  • Identify new sources or revenue such as grants and other fundraising activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a combination of campus recruiting, career services, program management, event management, education, or other related fields
  • Experience using a career management system such as Handshake required
  • Innovative thinker with strong analytical and communication competencies
  • High attention to detail with regards to maintaining and tracking employment outcomes
  • Demonstrated competency in translating employer hiring needs and interview requirements to students and career counselors
  • A high level of professionalism required, with strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and sustain strong relationships and partnerships with employers; alumni; human resources professionals; fundraising professionals; donors; admissions; faculty; other key members of the campus community
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks with ease
  • Team player with a strong ability to work in a collaborative, high performance team environment. Technology Skills
  • Proficiency utilizing MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; database management software; desktop publishing software; and internet research
  • Experience conducting virtual recruiting sessions and webinars, desired or willingness to master these skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
