A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Synthetic research in electrocatalysis for organic synthesis
  • Characterisation of materials
  • Device fabrication, including two fabricated electrochemical flow cells
  • Maintenance of key instruments
  • Training of Ph.D. students, undergraduate researchers, and exchange students
  • Administrative duties, e.g. purchase of chemicals and equipment
  • Drafting reports, papers, and proposals
  • Presentation of research and outreach
  • Coordinate collaborations

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Prior experience in electrocatalysis, especially with flow cells
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Strong publication record
  • Experienced in the preparation of semiconductor materials as (photo)electrodes, including familiarity with a range of techniques such as powder XRD, TEM, SEM, XPS, and electrochemistry.
  • Familiarity with the fabrication of an electrochemical flow cell is preferred

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
