Department of Biology

The Department offers two BSc (Hons) programmes in Applied Biology, and in Bioresource and Agricultural Science; and MPhil and PhD degrees in Biological Science, Environmental Science and Agricultural Science. Strong emphasis is placed on both quality education and scholarly research. 

Assistant Professor (PR0084/20-21)

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, or health-related area, with postdoctoral training and an excellent track record of outstanding research publications and strong externally-funded research projects. They should have the ability to work independently. Those with experience in international collaboration are highly desirable.

Candidates should be independent, energetic, and ambitious scientists; have demonstrated experience in high impact research and an excellent track record in publication; and committed to excellence in both research and teaching.

Colleagues recruited will have access to over HK$1M of seed money and appropriate research facilities/support, as well as a generous array of competitive research funding from internal and external sources.

The opening is on tenure-track with initial appointment on three-year fixed-term contract. Re-appointments thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Tenured appointments are expected to be attained within six years. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
