This is an opportunity to join this Division and contribute to teaching, supervision and research in the heart of the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
The position contributes predominantly to teacher education programmes focussed on Science and/or Technology Education and will also contribute to other areas depending on expertise.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD, or be in the final stages of completion if applying at Lecturer level, and preferably a teaching qualification. You will have broad and in-depth knowledge of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, in particular Science and Technology. It is essential to have current knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa. The University is committed to Māori and Pacific learner success and it would be desirable to have an understanding of bicultural approaches and knowledge of Māori and Pasifika perspectives. Also desirable is to have or be willing to obtain/renew a practising certificate in teaching.
You will have a record of quality scholarly achievement with the ability to lead research activities and you will be expected to contribute to the graduate and postgraduate programme including the supervision of Honours, Masters and PhD students.
The current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$77,402 to $93,220 per year and for Senior Lecturers is NZ$95,883 to $126,246 per year depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
