  • Salary range: $88,851 - $95,253 per annum plus superannuation

About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Professor: Chemistry you will undertake research-related activities on a Wastewater Analysis Project. You will actively participate in sample preparation using specialised extraction techniques and analysis of trace levels of target compounds using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the execution of research and offer new ideas on research directions
  • Actively participate in the production of data
  • Design experiments and develop methods for the detection of compounds of concern in wastewater
  • Draft reports, abstracts and scientific papers to provide accounts of findings, presenting results in R format

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A postgraduate qualification in an analytical chemistry-related discipline
  • Experience in laboratory procedures relevant to the field of wastewater-based epidemiology, forensic sciences or equivalent
  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology relevant to the research project
  • Competency in recording, analysing, presenting and disseminating research to stakeholders
  • High level communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaborate effectively with others
