Department of Psychology

Part-Time, Fixed Term – 12 months (0.2 FTE)

Applications are invited for the post of Therapist – Healthcare Professional in the Department of Psychology

The Therapist - healthcare professional will work in the UK on Phase 2 of the HEADS-UP project (http://pc.rhul.ac.uk/sites/headsup), which is led by the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Michael Evangeli, Reader in Clinical Psychology. The study aims to develop and test the feasibility of a behavioural intervention to increase onward HIV disclosure levels and support onward HIV disclosure decision-making in perinatally infected adolescents/young adults with HIV in the UK and Uganda.

There are two phases to the study:

  • eveloping the planned intervention for each context (Phase 1: 15 months).
  • Conducting a randomised feasibility parallel group trial of the intervention alongside a standard of care condition (Phase 2: 15 months)

The successful candidate will have knowledge of issues affecting people living with HIV and a professional qualification in a relevant healthcare profession, be a strong communicator, have good listening skills, and be able to work independently.
