About the position

A position as Postdoctoral Fellow in the project “Pathways to the world of work for students with disabilities in higher education” is available at the Department of Mental Health, NTNU.

This project will provide new and practical knowledge of facilitators and barriers to universal and supported studies for students with disabilities. The project includes three work packages, and we have already engaged two PhD Candidates in relation to this project. The Postdoctoral project will examine attitudes towards students with disabilities and their potential for higher education and further work inclusion among academic staff at Norwegian universities, and employers and relevant employees at Norwegian Labor and Welfare Administration (NAV). The project has an innovative entrance aiming to strengthen the university’s and collaboration partners’ capacity for development and change. The Postdoctoral Fellow will collaborate with the PhD Candidates and the research group.

This position is full time (100 %), fixed-term position, for 2 years. Appointment to the position of Postdoctoral Fellow is mainly intended to provide qualification for work in top academic positions. It is a prerequisite that the applicant can carry out the project over the full course of the employment period. No person may hold more than one fixed-term position as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same institution.

Place of employment is at Campus Øya in Trondheim, Medical Technical Research Center (MTFS).

Duties of the position

Required selection criteria

A postdoctoral research fellowship is a qualification position in which the main objective is a qualification for work in academic positions. You must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree in health and social sciences, or a corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree is required.

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post-doctor and research assistant.

We offer

Salary and conditions

The employment period is 2 years. The position is subject to external funding. Postdoctoral candidates are placed in code 1352 and are normally remunerated at gross from NOK 542 400 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU. After the appointment, you must assume that there may be changes in the area of work. It is a prerequisite you can be present at and accessible to the institution on a daily basis.

About the application
