The Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment has an international reputation for excellence and innovation and an ambitious desire to be recognised as one of the most exciting places to study in the world.

We deliver research-led teaching and outstanding support across undergraduate and postgraduate study in Architecture & the Built Environment; Computing & Engineering; and Art & Design.

As Associate Dean, Strategy and Development, you will support the Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean by taking responsibility for day-to-day leadership and management of the Faculty, and co-ordinating strategic planning and development.

Working closely with the Faculty’s Heads of School, you will be pivotal in ensuring the progression of partnership developments, contributing to the University’s mission, and the various international and national agendas.

You should have:

  •  Worked at a senior level in higher education.
  • Demonstrable team working skills and the ability to influence without recourse to line management.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of UK University/HE systems and procedures as they relate to the Faculty and to its business development and partnerships.
  • A highly developed understanding of the role of professional statutory bodies in relation to the Faculty’s activities.
  • A critical understanding of the role of external stakeholders in academic development and delivery.
  • A creative outlook towards identifying and developing new business opportunities.
