Located in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK, between the Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, Bangor University has occupied a central role in the educational provision of the area since its foundation in 1884. With approximately 11,000 students and 2,000 staff, the university offers a wide range of academic provision grouped in three Colleges. Following a strategic review of our marketing, recruitment and communications activity, we are now seeking to appoint to the new role of Director of Communications and Brand whose portfolio of activities will raise the profile and understanding of Bangor University locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The role will lead a team covering communications, brand, alumni and web with the Director expected to redesign the functions to enable them to be sector leading for innovation, delivery and impact.  Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President International, the role will have a high profile internally and externally as you lead on developing and raising the university’s brand.

Highly creative with the ability to innovate in all areas of communications and brand marketing, the successful candidate will bring a track record of successful leadership in communications and brand within higher education.  Focussed on return on investment and tangible results, our Director will bring experience of developing high impact communications and marketing campaigns.  Comfortable in a leadership role, you will be an assured, persuasive and confident communicator, someone who seeks innovative solutions, with imagination and creativity, inspiring trust and respect across our community.
