The Role

We are looking to appoint a Level C (Senior Lecturer) Teaching and Leadership Academic who can contribute to in-demand areas of the Computing curriculum. This is a specialist role for staff who demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership, focussed on enhancing the organisation and delivery of teaching and improving the student experience. This position is aimed at growing and strengthening the teaching profile in the Department.

The Department is open to applicants from any area relevant to our degree programs but in particular candidates with teaching experience in information systems, Web and mobile development, networking and cyber security are encouraged to apply.

While a PhD would be an advantage, we would encourage candidates with experience teaching in these areas to apply, especially if they have relevant industry experience. This is a new continuing role in our Department of Computing in Macquarie’s Teaching & Leadership Job Family

  • A doctoral or master qualification or equivalent standing
  • Passion for, and proven excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in areas relevant to our degree programs
  • Demonstrated experience in degree or major level curriculum development or management of ongoing programs, course planning and review activities
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry in developing programs and improving outcomes for students
  • Demonstrated capacity to make a meaningful and substantial contribution to all activities of the Department, including administration and planning
  • Ability to provide leadership in the scholarship of teaching
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to create inclusive teaching environments that enable all students to thrive or experience in developing inclusive and diverse curricula and teaching content.
