Senior Vice-Principal for Student and Staff Experience

Royal Holloway is looking to appoint a new Senior Vice-Principal for Student and Staff Experience. Reporting to the Principal, the appointed candidate will work with students and colleagues to support continued enhancement of the student experience, and to lead innovations in response to changing demographics and student needs.   S/he will also oversee critical developments in the staff experience, ensuring that the University is evolving and fulfilling its mission effectively through: a progressive approach to reward, promotion and performance; a commitment to equality and diversity for all; and a vibrant culture that balances our commitments to students and research effectively.   The role will also provide leadership to our portfolio of taught postgraduate activities, with an opportunity to facilitate growth in student and programme numbers, and to develop further our offering in central London. 

Candidates should bring experience of effective strategic leadership in a senior academic role, such as Head of School, Dean or Pro Vice-Chancellor, and will have made a tangible impact in post.  A track record of student engagement and a passion for supporting a transformational experience is key.  S/he will be comfortable providing leadership in both academic and professional service contexts, and will ideally have overseen a period of growth in their institution or department.   Demonstrable experience of effective delivery of change management projects, combined with the ability to motivate and encourage staff to deliver high levels of performance, are highly desirable attributes.
