Overview

Edith Cowan University’s Nutrition Research group has recently created at least 2 new population health positions to undertake NHMRC and MRFF funded research projects.

The Role

The School is looking for Post-doctoral Research Fellows to conduct research in the field of nutritional epidemiology, clinical trials and population health.

The research will involve design and conduct of observational epidemiological studies / intervention studies (randomised controlled trials) / experimental studies / translational studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Apply for research funding
  • Initiate and develop targeted research collaborations
  • Conduct and co-ordinate research studies
  • Publish and promote the results of the research
  • Engage in the supervision and training of research students
  • Work closely with other team members

Skills and Experience

You must have:

  • A PhD in an appropriate field (applications can be accepted from current PhD candidates, but the PhD must be submitted prior to commencement of the contract)
  • Strong interest in nutrition and lifestyle research
  • Experience in planning and conducting scientific research
  • Excellent scientific writing skills with a demonstrated record of research publication
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biostatics and epidemiology
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

Benefits & Remuneration

These full-time, fixed term positions attract remuneration of $90,957 to $97,389 (ALEV A) or $102,253 to $120,814 (ALEV B) plus up to 17% University superannuation contribution.
