MIT OPEN PUBLISHING SERVICES (MITops) PROGRAM LEADMIT Press (MITP), to shape and execute strategy for the launch and growth of the Press’s newest publishing program—MITops.  MITops is the exclusive service provider for academic publishing projects that are hosted on PubPub. MITops will also be able to provide EDP and related services on an a la carte basis. Will serve as a key member of the MITops strategic team and assist with overall strategy, programmatic management, and business development; work with Press directors and managers to identify and recruit institutional (individuals or DLCs) and mission-aligned independent publishers that need professional publishing services; build and maintain a network of experienced publishing contractors; and collaborate with the PubPub team to scope and develop online community publishing solutions that meet partner expectations cost effectively.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least three years’ administrative and/or project/program management experience and at least two years of product, marketing, or business development experience, preferably in scholarly and/or book/journal publishing or in open source software community management; strong communication and customer service skills; track record setting up systems and processes to manage communication and outreach; and basic understanding of current and evolving digital scholarship methodologies, state-of-the-art production technologies, and multimodal software applications. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of becoming permanent. Job #18969-8
