Job Description

Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.

The person in this position will work with the PI and other lab members to design and carry out animal experiments, basic molecular and cellular biology procedures including RNA isolation, qPCR, protein isolation, Western blot and flow cytometry. The person will also be responsible for maintaining multiple mouse lines, including breeding and genotyping, as well as overseeing animal experiments.  Minimal cell culture work is expected to be part of the job. Expertise in flow-cytometry and in vivo mouse models are beneficial. Based on the experiments involved, he/she will also be responsible for data analysis and will present date to the PI and other lab members at lab meetings. Credit for authorship may be claimed from resulting manuscripts and scientific abstracts based on the effort in projects.  The PI’s area of interest is immune-pharmacology and cardiovascular biology. The translational nature of the project would be a great opportunity for those seeking to build a career in biomedical research or medicine.  This would be an excellent opportunity for those seeking admission to medical school of taking time off prior to residency applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
