The Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center is seeking a data manager to lead the Center’s data acquisition efforts for large pragmatic and comparative effectiveness trials and observational cohort studies. The data manager must demonstrate a strong understanding of research concepts and data structures, ideally in the healthcare setting, and be able to discuss both technical requirements and study design considerations effectively with collaborators within and external to the PAIR Center. The data manager will be embedded within project teams to develop, document, and execute data workflows. This individual will also be responsible for establishing data use agreements (DUAs) on behalf of the Center; planning for data transfer, preservation, and destruction; and maintaining complete documentation.
The successful candidate must have experience transforming and exploring data files using SAS. Experience with SQL and data science techniques are strongly preferred. Above all, attention to detail and the ability to clearly and concisely convey nuanced technical information to different audiences (project managers, investigators, technical and non-technical external stakeholders, statisticians/analysts, other data managers) will be essential to this individual’s success in the position.
A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of data management and/or project management experience in healthcare research or a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience processing data using SAS; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
