As part of the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States, the Faculty of Business and Economics at TU Dresden invites applications for the

Chair (W2) of Business Management, esp. Organisation
 (with tenure track to W2)

with a six-year contract to be filled at latest on May 1st 2021.

In being appointed to the chair, evaluation criteria will be mutually agreed upon, which will be evaluated by a TU Dresden evaluation commission at the latest in the fifth year of the appointment. The main focus of the evaluation will be the scientific success in the form of subject-relevant and high-quality publications, the acquisition of third-party research funds as well as related project management experience, commitment and success in teaching performance and promotion of young scientists, the networking in the scientific community and special commitment to academic selfadministration. Following a positive evaluation, a permanent Chair (W2) of Business management, esp. Organization will be granted.

The successful candidate will conduct research and teaching activities in the field of organisation. He/she is expected to teach courses in the faculty's bachelor, master and diploma programmes, in particular in business administration foundations and specialisations. We also expect the successful candidate to cooperate actively with both, the members of the faculty and other disciplines within the university, and to contribute to external fundraising.

The ideal candidate holds an excellent PhD (or equivalent) in relevant fields and has demonstrated the potential to publish in international top journals and present the research results at international conferences. In accordance with the focus of the faculty’s profile, the candidate is expected to engage in applied, empirical research with the potential for theory building. We additionally welcome a research profile preferably rooted in behavioral science, with focus on one or more fields of organisation (e.g. organisational learning, change management and/or innovation management, organisation design). Furthermore, ties to strategic management (e.g. strategic leadership, strategic competence management) and/or technology management (e.g. digital transformation and restructuring management) are desirable. We expect good teaching skills as well as the ability and willingness to offer courses in English. Proficiency in German is not a prerequisite for appointment. However, we expect the successful candidate to acquire sufficient language skills in German to conduct teaching and administrative tasks within two years after appointment.

The professorship is financed with funds from Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States for the promotion of young scientists and is aimed at top early career scholars. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG) and should be in an early postdoc phase. The position has to be filled at latest on May 1st 2021.

TU Dresden supports tenure track professors with a programme specifically tailored to their needs. Mentoring, various coaching sessions, and special continuing education programmes and support offers provide active professional guidance throughout the duration of the temporary position at the chair.
