Job Description Summary

This position requires the technical knowledge and skill to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on vehicles according to Penn Transit standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Perform vehicle scheduled preventive maintenance and repair on Penn Transit Fleet vehicles and equipment

Diagnose and repair systems including but not limited to electrical, onboard computer, air condition/heating, steering, engine, and drive train

Transport vehicles when needed. Including CDL vehicles

Must be able to work unsupervised at times

Perform road service and repairs

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Possess all necessary hand , and air tools

Qualifications:

Technical School, Certification, training or apprenticeship beyond High School is required and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational training/education preferred. Must be ASE Certified in the functional areas of expertise. Must have a Pennsylvania commercial driver's license class B with both air brake endorsement or ability to obtain during 120 day Introductory Period. At least 3 current ASE certifications or a master ASE certification strongly preferred. Must have a minimum tool set. Solid communication & customer service skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel. Ability to meet physical requirements with or without accommodations, including: frequently lift 25-50 lbs, sitting/stooping/bending/crouching/pushing/pulling/reaching overhead. Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends as required.
