We are looking for a part-time (3-days) up to full-time (5-days) Workforce Planner to join the People & Culture Team. You will be responsible for planning and aligning the School's teaching staff to meet all course delivery needs on an annual basis, achieving efficiencies through better planning and contracting processes. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to devise workforce planning processes that are streamlined, fit for purpose and that allow the School to make effective future workforce decisions.
About the role:
As Workforce Planner at AFTRS, you will:
- Design, document and implement an appropriate workforce planning process, reducing administrative burden across the School and achieving efficiencies through better contracting processes.
- Work closely with Course Leaders, Heads of Department and Senior Lecturers to map out workforce needs on an annual basis.
- Work closely with the Director, People & Culture to conduct strategic analysis on an annual basis, to provide insights, forecast future needs and identify real and potential risks.
- Conduct research to benchmark with other tertiary institutions to assess the strength of our workforce planning, contracting, and academic workload processes.
- Work closely with the HR team to lead and manage faculty recruitment processes and to identify potential opportunities for skills development to ensure that the correct professional development opportunities are available to support teaching staff now and into the future.
- Lead an annual evaluation of workforce planning processes with Course Leaders, tracking efficiencies, issues and analysing process impacts on the School and implementing recommended improvements.
About you:
- You have demonstrated experience in Human Resources, Payroll and/or Rostering environment.
- You have demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking, use sound judgement and act with integrity.
- You have demonstrated high-level problem-solving and sound analytical skills, with proven ability to monitor and analyse trends, and make recommendations.
- You have demonstrated ability to be organised, autonomous, driven and priority oriented and work in an agile way in a fast-paced environment.
- You have demonstrated ability to build and sustain robust, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to influence and achieve results.
- You have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: AFTRS Level 7 $94,077 - $101,473 (dependent on experience), plus up to 15.4% superannuation and excellent benefits.
