Job Description Summary

The Specialist will be under the direct supervision of Drs. Thea Golden and Yu-Chin Lien and will be responsible for day to day care, feeding and weighing of animals in the Animal Care facility at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Specialist will assist and eventually perform small animal surgeries, obtaining tissues and blood from animals and perform euthanasia of animals as necessary. Additional duties include performing molecular biology experiments such as qPCR, Western blot analysis, and library prep for RNAseq. The Specialist will assist in Flow Cytometry studies under the supervision of Dr. Thea Golden. The Specialist will also liaison with members of other laboratories at UPENN, CHOP, and institutions in the U.S and coordinating sample distribution and receipt and biobanking of samples.

Position contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
