Job Description Summary

The Bioinformatics Specialist (Data Analyst) will support ongoing whole-genome-wide high-throughput DNA-Seq and functional genomics projects. The duties of the staff member include (1) receive, review, process sequencing primary and secondary sequencing data from collaborators and genotyping facilities; (2) process and review quality of whole genome and whole exome sequencing data using standard pipelines defined by research projects; (3) contribute to genetics/functional genomics data management; (4) maintain data records, documentation, and access for data release by NIAGADS

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of data analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required knowledge includes process and data modeling, data architectural development methodology and working knowledge of databases. Experience using data analysis tool and databases. Demonstrated competence in systems analysis and design and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
