Job Description Summary
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and one of the finest medical schools in the United States. Independently coordinate, with the support of the study team, state of the art clinical trials, including consenting, screening and enrolling eligible subjects, managing the treatment of patients throughout their participation in the study including education about any adverse effects they might experience, provide oversight and coordination of research testing and follow-up, as well as, in some case, directly administer novel research medications. Monitor the care and progress of patients, the treatment of any side effects and status of patients throughout their participation in the study, in addition to providing patient/family education and support. Provide input into the development of efficient work flows and attend any meetings related to the studies. Develop and institute internal strategies for meeting and exceeding trial enrollment, and assuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards. This position is contingent on funding.
Registered Nurse, current PA license required and 2-3 years of relevant experience required. BSN degree preferred. Prior clinical research experience is required. Position prefers an articulate individual with a strong background in women s health. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Strong planning and organizational capabilities along with problem solving skills desired. Must be able to communicate comfortably and effectively with regulatory authorities/sponsors/investigators; knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations, preferred.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
