Job Description Summary

The Research Coordinator will support various research and administrative activities of the Penn Mental Health AIDS Research Center. They will be be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Community Advisory Board (CAB), including all monthly meeting arrangements, preparing agendas and other meeting materials, taking and disseminating meeting minutes, arranging for catering, overseeing CAB projects and maintaining contacts with other community partners. In addition, they will support subject recruitment efforts for studies the center supports and multiple pilot studies. They will enroll patients in studies, maintain updated enrollment numbers and document recruitment strategies for all participating subjects. They will consult on the design of flier and web-based recruitment activities. They will maintain an updated list of of grants and publications and assist with reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with both academic and community event planning. Familiarity with health and mental health agencies in Philadelphia would be desirable. Oral and written communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Job Description

This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.

This positions contingent on funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
