The Lab Manager in the Huh Lab in the Department of Bioengineering at Penn Engineering will be charge of: establishing and managing a database of laboratory orders; maintaining various types of equipment in the Huh group; developing and managing inventories of research materials; managing laboratory protocols; organizing group meetings and discussion sessions; and holding orientations and training sessions for new lab members. The position will participate in highly varied interdisciplinary research projects and play a supporting role in the production of research publications and presentations.

Job Description

The Lab Manager in the Huh Lab in the Department of Bioengineering at Penn Engineering will be charge of: establishing and managing a database of laboratory orders; maintaining various types of equipment in the Huh group used for cell culture, microfabrication, and microscopy; developing and managing inventories of research materials; managing laboratory protocols for safe use and maintenance of biological and chemical materials; organizing group meetings and discussion sessions; and holding orientations and training sessions for new lab members. The position will also utilize knowledge of cell biology, microfabrication, and microfluidics to participate in highly varied interdisciplinary research projects and play a supporting role in the production of research publications and presentations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience as a research technician or laboratory manager or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Significant research background in bioengineering and microengineering.
