Chair (W2) of Primary Education/ Mathematical Education

is to be filled at the earliest possible date.

The incumbent will represent the field of primary education in research and teaching, paying particular attention to the subject-specific and subject-didactic principles of teaching mathematics. The chair is in charge of the organisation and coordination of the state examination degree programme for teaching mathematics at primary schools. Your courses are to be held in German and must be related to the German school system. The tasks also include the coordination of the subject handicrafts. Interdisciplinary cooperation with the STEM subjects is expressly desired. We are seeking a committed professional personality who closely links teaching with research and is particularly involved in the "University School" research project of TU Dresden. You will also be actively involved in the further development of the primary school's learning and research workshop. We expect your willingness to actively participate in the Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) as well as in the interdisciplinary work within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of TU Dresden as well as in academic selfadministration.

We are looking for a professional personality who is excellently qualified in a current field of research in mathematics didactics in primary schools and who is committed to representing this field in teaching. You will be required to have a background in at least one empirical research methodology and to be able to deal with topics such as digitalisation or heterogeneity in the teaching methodology of mathematics. We expect experience in the acquisition of third-party funding, project and group management. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
