Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Medicine.

Currently there is an urgent need for highly sensitive and rapid diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID 19 disease) and Influenza A & B. The highest priority for such diagnostic tests is detection at the point-of-care (POC). POC testing can achieve high-quality diagnostic results within minutes. The aim of this research is to develop an immunoassay for all three viral infections for use in a single POC format. The successful applicant will work as part of the team to produce and test novel antibody sensors using recombinant DNA technology, cell biology and immunoassays.

PD1 salary: €37,874 - €43,782 per annum
PD2 salary: €45,041 - €49,049 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
