An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer or Reader with substantial expertise in the field of Physical Activity and Health to join the School of Health and Life Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland.
As a Senior Lecturer/Reader, you will complement the growth of physical activity and health research and the advancement of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Division of Sport and Exercise. You will also provide broader leadership within the Division, including influencing its strategic priorities and future direction. You should have significant prior experience of working in a Higher Education environment, including module and programme development and a track record of high-quality research publications and income generation. Applications are particularly welcome from researchers with expertise in mixed-methods research methodologies.
You will join a progressive group of staff within the Division of Sport and Exercise who deliver four undergraduate and one postgraduate programme(s) at our Ayr and Lanarkshire campuses. The recently opened Lanarkshire campus includes a wide range of technology-enabled teaching spaces and state of the art sport and exercise laboratories. Students on the Lanarkshire programmes also undertake a number of practical classes at the Emirates Arena. Academic staff within the Division contribute to research in a number of areas, including coach development and education, digital health, healthy ageing, nutrition, paediatric physical activity, sport psychology, and team sport performance. The Division of Sport and Exercise sits within the School of Health and Life Sciences which collectively delivers a diverse range of programmes at our Lanarkshire, Paisley, Ayr and London campuses to a combined total of circa 6000 students.
