The Role

Maynooth University Counselling Service is currently seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and experienced Counsellor to fill a temporary full-time maternity leave post.

The successful candidate will work as part of a professional team in an essential fast-paced, demand-led service in order to provide a comprehensive, professional, confidential, counselling service to an ever-increasing and diverse student body. The successful candidate will carry a full counselling caseload and engage in and expand the preventative and developmental programmes as identified by the Service, to meet the emerging needs of the student body. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work well in a team environment and have demonstrated their ability to use initiative. The Counsellor will report directly to the Head of the Counselling Service.

Administrative Officer II (2020): €37,976 - €54,647 per annum (9 points) pro rata

Appointments will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the Administrative Officer II Scale.
