Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 500444), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in artificial intelligence, big data, computer science or other related discipline; (ii) evidence of international recognition and scholarship; (iii) demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iv) a strong commitment to engage students in inquiry-based learning at postgraduate levels; and (v) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants.
The appointee is expected to lead an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration to collate and curate massive, unique data resources and to develop novel, deep, frontier analytics in improving global public health. He/She will also teach public health courses relevant to infectious diseases, epidemiology and biostatistics at postgraduate level; and supervise junior research staff and students. In the course of career development, he/she is expected to make substantial contributions to the School’s strategic developments in academic and research collaborations locally, regionally and internationally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
