Executive Dean Bangor College China and Director of International Relations, Bangor Business School

Established in 2014 Bangor College China is a partnership between Bangor University and Central South University of Forestry and Technology, located in Changsha city in Hunan province. Our vision for the College is to provide a high-quality higher education to meet the local, national and international social and economic development needs, and to provide high calibre graduates to study at Masters and PhD level in Bangor.

Initially focussed on business and engineering disciplines the College has grown rapidly and now also teaches forestry and environmental sciences with an ambition to further grow the offer.  Working closely with senior colleagues in China and the UK, you will lead on the teaching and learning, quality assurance and academic research of the staff at the College. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for further developing Bangor Business School’s trans-national education activities. S/he will work closely with the School’s executive to identify opportunities, share best practice, and ensure that a strategic approach to partnership development is embedded throughout the School’s activities. Largely based in China during teaching periods, you will also spend time in Bangor, working with senior colleagues on international strategic development initiatives.

This exciting leadership opportunity in the only joint enterprise between China and an overseas university in Hunan province requires deep experience of trans-national education and knowledge of higher education provision in China. Candidates should have an established academic and leadership track record and knowledge and experience of working to quality assurance benchmarks and standards as they pertain to international academic partnerships. As a high-level representational role, candidates will be comfortable in an ambassadorial position and be an assured, persuasive, and confident communicator.
