About the role

The successful candidates will lead the delivery of innovative and contemporary student-centred curriculum and contribute to the strong research, grant, publication and community engagement activities of the School of Health and Human Sciences.

We offer the opportunity to teach with state-of-the-art facilities within the new Health Sciences Building (opened in 2019), and join a team of successful academics in the School of Health and Human Sciences.

Applications are welcomed for Teaching and Research or Teaching Scholar academic profiles. The successful candidate(s) may negotiate a part-time or full-time placement.

The Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Speech Pathology will deliver the Speech Pathology program at Southern Cross University’s as part of the introduction of the course at our Coffs Harbour campus from 2021, expanding on the established Speech Pathology program currently being delivered at our Gold Coast campus. Up to three positions are available at the spectacular Coffs Harbour campus, with the region offering the perfect balance of a coastal lifestyle, with marine parks and rainforest surroundings and the convenience of city living.

Senior Lecturer – A remuneration package of up to $163,882 per annum is offered for a Senior Lecturer appointment, inclusive of base salary $121,696-$140,070 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation.  Pro-rata for part-time appointment.

Lecturer – A remuneration package of up to $138,091 per annum is offered for a Lecturer appointment, inclusive of base salary $99,649-$118,027 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation.  Pro-rata for part-time appointment.

About you

We are seeking applications from experienced Speech Pathologists who are registered (or eligible for registration) with Speech Pathology Australia. As applications are being accepted for both Lecturer (Level B) and Senior Lecturer (Level C) positions, we are open to candidates with an emerging track record of teaching and experience or are established leader(s) within the profession.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate success leading contemporary clinical practice and utilising evidenced-based theory to enhance patient outcomes. You will be passionate about promoting lifelong learning and ethical practice, and demonstrate commitment to your own continuing professional development and professional practice.

Experience in linguistics, voice and/or fluency would be desirable, but not essential.

Applicants for Teaching and Research profiles should demonstrate a track record of research activity in addition to relevant teaching experience.
