Description
The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of liver dissociation, FACS sorting, single cell sequencing and analysis, immunofluorescence, writing manuscripts, independent research idea development. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include the generation and analysis of reprogrammed hepatocytes following toxin mediated injury to the liver and the characterization of their transcriptional profiles at the single cell level during the process of reprogramming.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts, grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career training offered by the University.

A PhD and greater than 4 years postdoctoral experience in the research topic area, with a track record of excellent first author publications is required.

The appointment is for one (1) year only.
