Job Purpose

As Learning Manager you will ensure all programmes under the responsibility of the Apprenticeship School are of high quality and bespoked (where required) to the needs of corporate clients. This will involve project management of design projects (in consultation with key clients) alongside ongoing quality assurance of delivery and virtual learning environments to drive overall educational quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Design

  • Set design strategy and product specification for all Apprenticeship School Programmes
  • Design quality learning resources
  • Design quality face to face and online classes and workshops
  • Ensure that content meets quality inspection framework standards
  • Brief freelance designers on project requirements and provide final sign-off

Project Management

  • Consult with clients to understand bespoke requirements
  • Project manage design projects through use of a project plan and facilitation of project review meetings

Programme Quality

  • Create and embed a sign-off process for all learning resources to ensure quality checks take place before launch
  • Oversee annual review of programmes to understand and implement improvement actions
  • Undertake Management Observations of tutors and regular reviews of virtual learning environment content
  • Initiate training, feedback, course evaluation and sharing of best practice for tutors
  • Understand Ofsted and awarding Body quality requirements for learning materials
  • Brief tutors on Ofsted quality standards
  • Represent the Apprenticeship School during external inspections and quality review events
  • Agree, report on and monitor Apprenticeship School programme quality KPIs, representing the Apprenticeship School as appropriate at Quality Review Meetings/Committees

Candidate criteria

  • Experienced in designing high-quality online learning resources
  • Experienced in designing face to face and online workshops
  • Experienced in delivering training online and face to face
  • Detailed end-to-end understanding of apprenticeship programmes
  • Experience of working in learning and development or an educational setting
  • Experience in working with online virtual learning environment and webinar platforms
  • Exceptional organisational, project management and change management skills
  • Strong communications skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders through discussion and presentation
  • A desire to investigate and learn and to seek out new emerging innovations
