DATA RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) (multiple openings), to carry out data analysis under faculty guidance for projects throughout the JPAL network, with expected start dates in Summer 2021.  Will work hand-in-hand with faculty members to clean and analyze data collected from the field.  Responsibilities include working with data sets in STATA or R and preparing and running code for data cleaning and analysis; assisting faculty with literature reviews; liaising with field staff running evaluations and collaborating on data collection practices and quality control; providing input into technical aspects of project reports as needed; assisting with technical aspects of applications to Institutional Review Boards; providing input into academic papers; preparing data for publication; and supervising undergraduate interns who may assist with the PI’s project.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, mathematics, statistics, or related field; two years' experience in social sciences, data analysis, and research methods (experience gained during undergraduate study as an RA or in a similar role may be considered); experience with Stata or equivalent statistical package; and experience working with large data sets.  Job #18936
